Mongolia, Germany to Cooperate in Agricultural Cooperatives
The “Uilgan” cooperative from Tsagaan-Uur soum, Khovsgol aimag, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation with the “Untere Spreewald” of the region of Brandenburg, Germany. Similarly, the “Shoshooloshton” cooperative of Darkhan-Uul aimag established a cooperation memorandum with the “Grossmar” cooperative.

General Government Revenue and Grants Increase by MNT 1.2 Trillion
According to the preliminary results for 2025, general government revenue and grants reached MNT 32.6 trillion, an increase of 3.8 percent, or MNT 1.2 trillion, compared to the previous year. Balanced revenue and grants amounted to MNT 30.1 trillion, rising by 1.3 percent, or MNT 386.8 billion, year on year.

Government to Formally Approach Rio Tinto, Oyu Tolgoi to Safeguard National Interest
At its regular session on January 7, 2026, the government discussed actions to implement the parliamentary resolution on measures to be taken following the special inspection and open hearings aimed at safeguarding Mongolia’s interests and increasing returns from the Oyu Tolgoi project. The Government decided to formally approach the management of Oyu Tolgoi LLC and the investor Rio Tinto Group. The composition of the working group appointed by the Government to conduct negotiations with the project’s investors has been renewed as part of efforts to implement the parliamentary resolution.
