Mongolian girl becomes amateur World champion in chess
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A student of the Mongolian State University of Education (MSUE) E.Khulan MS won a gold medal in the World Amateur Chess Championships 2016 held April 18-28 in Halkidiki, Greece.
Competed in the division under 2,000 FIDE rating, our player captured the gold medals, collecting 7.5 points after nine games in both men and women’s contests, and received a title of FIDE master.
In the division under 2,300, G.Gantsooj from “Monchess” club won a bronze medal with 6.5 points in the men’s contest, while N.Tsogzolmaa claimed a silver medal in the women’s under 1,700.
Another player T.Bayan-Ochir received a prize of young player.
