Freestyle wrestler E.Sumiya disqualified from Olympics

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A World championship silver medalist E.Sumiya has been disqualified from taking part in the 2016 Summer Olympics after she had tested positive for the banned drug meldonium at the Asian wrestling Olympic qualification tournament in Kazakhstan.

The United World Wrestling has announced an adjustment of wrestlers who have been qualified from the Olympics after the test, and wiped out quotas of the athletes resulted positive for banned drugs in men’s freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle.

According to the United World Wrestling, Competing in women’s -53 kg category, the Mongolian wrestler E.Sumiya’s quota has been passed to an Indian athlete Kumari Babita.

The Freestyle Wrestling Federation of Mongolia will give a report on the doping issue soon.
