'Steppe of Chinggis Khaan-Mongolian Nomads’ exhibition opens in Denmark

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Co-organized by the National Museum of Denmark and ‘Moesgaard’ ethnographic museum in Aarhus city, a special exhibition titled ‘Steppe of Chinggis Khaan-Mongolian Nomads’ was opened on June 18 in Denmark.
 
The exhibition displays Mongolian nomadic civilization and historic events of Chinngis Khaan in an interesting way using modern digital technology, showcasing some 1240 sample pieces of ethnographic items and antiquities collected by Danish traveler and anthropoligist Henning Haslund-Christensen in 1920-1930s and historic finds of the 13th century being preserved in the National Museum of Mongolia, Institute of History and Archaeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, 
 
At the opening of the exhibition, Director of Moesgaard Museum Mads Kähler Holst expressed his pleasure at conducting the historic exhibition for the first time in Denmark which tells about steppe of Chinngis Khaan and nomads’ life. Moreover, it became an important step to develop cooperation in direction of researches in future.  
        
“I am expressing my deep gratitude to the Government of Denmark and its people on backing Mongolia at all sides in the past period. The Kingdom of Denmark is one of the first Western Democratic countries that established diplomatic relations with Mongolia and the two countries have rich historic ties based on common values such as democracy, human rights, legal governance and sustainable development goals, Ambassador of Mongoia to the Kingdom of Sweden M.Enkhsaikhan said.
 
Furthermore, a tomb of a cavalry of the 13th century at the exhibition attracted public attention and authorities of the National Museum of Denmark expressed willingness to participate in further research of the mummy.
