Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Two-fingered and toothless dinosaur have been discovered in Gobi Desert in Mongolia, reported researchers of University of Edinburgh, who are members of a team, involving researchers from the University of Alberta, the University of Hokkaido, and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

This creature, which lived about a hundred million years ago, has been named Oksoko avarsan as they would feed on other animals as well as plants and has two fingers and feathers similar to parrots. It had only two fingers which makes it different from other known members of its family—  three-fingered 'oviraptors'.

Scientists believe that this discovery will help explain how hand and forelimb of oviraptors changed in an evolutionary way.

During the excavations, many skeletons were found at the same site, proving that the new species was up to 2 meters tall and lived in large herds.
