Speakers of the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Hold an Official Meeting

Ulaanbaatar, April 28, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve and Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik held an official meeting on April 28, 2025.


During the official meeting, Chairman Amarbayasgalan extended a warm welcome to Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik and the South Korean delegation, extending greetings on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, and noted that the State Great Khural places great importance on the official visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia.


The Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia highlighted the crucial role of close cooperation between the two countries’ supreme legislative bodies, parliamentary groups, and standing committees in the past 35 years of relations and cooperation between Mongolia the Republic of Korea, which is Mongolia's “Third Neighbor” and a close “Strategic Partner” in the region, sharing common values ​​of democracy, human rights, freedom, and market economy. Chairman Amarbayasgalan also expressed commitment to further increasing trade and investment, and expanding mutually complementary economic cooperation, utilizing the advantages and potential of the two countries, based on solid trust and close friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik expressed satisfaction with the strengthening of political trust and legal foundation of relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea and the steady frequency of high-level visits and dialogue between the two countries. Speaker Woo Won-shik affirmed commitment to further expanding cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries and noted that the National Assembly will pay attention to enriching economic cooperation between the two countries, implementing fruitful joint projects and programs, and creating favorable visa conditions for Mongolian citizens traveling to the Republic of Korea to receive healthcare services.

In connection with the increasing flow of citizens between the two countries, the two sides expressed commitment to closely collaborate on creating conditions for free travel of citizens and protecting the rights of Mongolian and South Korean citizens residing in the two countries, and exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
