Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Tours the “Ikh Khuraldai” Hall

Ulaanbaatar, April 29, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik is paying an official visit to Mongolia on April 26-30, 2025.


Following the official meeting between the Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Speaker Woo Won-shik and the Members of the National Assembly toured the “Ikh Khuraldai” Hall, where the State Great Khural holds its plenary sessions, on April 28, 2025. During the tour, Member of the State Great Khural Chinburen Jigjidsuren noted that, in accordance with a Decree of the President of Mongolia, a portrait of the Great Chinggis Khaan, along with his wisdom and teachings, is prominently displayed in the “Ikh Khuraldai” Hall.


Secretary General of the State Great Khural Baasandorj Barsuren highlighted that since the adoption of Mongolia’s democratic Constitution, eight Parliaments consisting of 76 Members have convened in the “Ikh Khuraldai” Hall from 1992 to 2024. Following the 2024 Parliamentary Elections, a new Parliament was formed with 126 Members representing five political parties. Secretary General Baasandorj also highlighted that the current Parliament is notably diverse, with Members from a wide range of social groups, including two Members who represent persons with developmental challenges. To ensure equal opportunity and uphold human rights, a special podium has been installed for the two Members.
