Minister Battsetseg Meets Naoko Ito to Advance Mongolia-Japan Cultural Ties

Ulaanbaatar, September 11, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Battsetseg Batmunkh, received the President of the Japan Discipline Association, Naoko Ito, during her visit to Mongolia on September 10, 2025.
Minister Battsetseg emphasized that Mongolia and Japan, bound by shared values, have elevated the bilateral relationship to a Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity, with a “human-centered cooperation”. This progress is the result of sustained efforts by generations of leaders, cultural figures, and citizens from both countries, reaffirming Mongolia’s commitment to deepening cooperation across all sectors.
The Minister expressed appreciation to Ms. Ito for her significant contributions to strengthening cultural and artistic exchanges, as well as human resource development in the health and medical fields. Congratulations were extended on the opening of the Mongolia-Japan Ethics and Discipline joint calligraphy exhibition in Ulaanbaatar, initiated under her leadership.
Ms. Ito conveyed her intention to continue fostering mutual understanding and friendship between Mongolia and Japan through cultural collaboration, noting the exhibition as a meaningful platform for dialogue and connection.
A joint calligraphy exhibition celebrating cultural ties between Mongolia and Japan opened at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum from September 10 to 20, 2025. Originally inaugurated in 2018 in Ulaanbaatar, the exhibition now features over 40 literary works contributed by prominent figures from politics, culture, the arts, civil society, and friendship associations of both countries.
Founded in 1980, the Japan Discipline Association promotes personal ethics and moral development through public lectures, community engagement, and its dedicated publication, Fureai magazine.
