Mongolian Team Claims 2nd Place at Judo Grand Prix

/MONTSAME/. The Mongolian team won a total of six medals, namely two gold,
one silver, and three bronze, finishing in second place overall at the Judo
Grand Prix held in Qingdao, People’s Republic of China.
On the final day of the
tournament, International Master Gonchigsuren Batkhuyag claimed the gold medal
in the men’s +100 kg division, moving Mongolia up to rank second in the medal
rankings, just behind Japan. In addition to the six medalists, four other
Mongolian judokas competed for bronze but were defeated, while one athlete
placed seventh. Following Mongolia in the team standings were the French
Republic, the Russian Federation, and the People’s Republic of China. Out of the
26 participating countries, 20 earned at least one medal, and athletes from
seven countries had the honor of hearing their national anthems played.
The next Judo Grand Prix events are scheduled for November 11, 2025, in Lima, Republic of Peru, and November 17, 2025, in Guadalajara, United Mexican States.
