Baskhuu Yondonperenlei Wins Qingdao Grand Prix

Ulaanbaatar, September 29, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Grand Prix tournament, a part of the International Judo Federation schedule, is ongoing in Qingdao, People’s Republic of China.
Mongolian athletes have won one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals out of 200 judokas from 26 countries competing in this tournament, securing a total of six medals after two days of competition. Specifically, in the men’s 66-kilogram weight class, Honored Athlete Baskhuu Yondonperenlei won the gold medal by defeating Yerdaulet Bozsha from the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lin Chong-Yu from Chinese Taipei, Ryoma Tanaka from Japan, and Obid Dzhebov from the Republic of Tajikistan. This is his third medal from a Grand Prix competition held in China.
In the women’s 63-kilogram class, Honored Athlete Enkhriilen Lkhagvatogoo defeated Shin Chaewon from the Republic of Korea, Kaja Kaiser from the Republic of Slovenia, and Kim Ji Hye from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. She lost in the final to the French athlete Manon Deketer and won the silver medal. Moreover, Sukhbat Baatarkhuu in the men’s 60-kilogram class, Narantsetseg Ganbaatar in the women’s 48-kilogram class, and Sosorbaram Lkhagvasuren in the women’s 57-kilogram class won bronze medals. Mongolian judokas currently stand in third place with six medals in the team ranking of the first two days.
