Premier Oyun-Erdene Pays Courtesy Call on Federal President Steinmeier

Ulaanbaatar, February 8, 2024 /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai today paid a courtesy call on President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is on a State Visit to Mongolia. This Visit is being implemented within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany.


Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene emphasized that during the State Visit of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the level of relations between the two countries has been upgraded to the level of Strategic Partnership, which is remarkably important in the cooperation.


During the meeting, the parties exchanged opinions on the cooperation possibilities of fulfilling the common goals set out in the long-term development policies of Mongolia and Germany, intensifying economic, trade, and investment cooperation, implementing large-scale projects in the fields of mining, industry, road transport, and urban development, and promoting productive cooperation.


Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene and President Steinmeier stated the importance of cooperation in the tourism sector to deepen relations between the citizens of Mongolia and Germany and agreed to continue working together to increase direct flights between the two countries and facilitate visa requirements. The Federal President noted that Mongolia has great potential for developing renewable energy as having a vast territory and a dispersed population and Germany will support Mongolia in this direction.
