Women Exporters in the Digital Economy Fund Launched

Ulaanbaatar, March 1, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The "SheTrades Summit" High-Level Event on Women and Trade was held on February 24-25, 2024, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Representatives from nine enterprises in Mongolia participated, including the "Khanbogd Cashmere" company, "Golomt" bank, and "Teso" group.


Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the United Arab Emirates Odonbaatar Shijeekhuu received the representatives. Ambassador Odonbaatar stated that he would engage in discussions regarding the possibility of exporting Mongolian products to Gulf countries and collaborating with domestic and national producers.


The World Trade Organization's 13th Ministerial Conference took place during the High-Level Event on Women and Trade, and the "Women Exporters in the Digital Economy Fund" was launched.


Through this international fund, established with USD 50 million, countries will collaborate to address the challenges encountered by women entrepreneurs. His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, expressed that the UAE will provide USD 10 million in support of the Fund's operations.


Mongolia will participate in the activities of the Fund, and the "She Trades Mongolia" center under the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry will facilitate opportunities for Mongolian women entrepreneurs to engage with the Fund's initiatives.
