Ulaanbaatar, March 13, 2024 /MONTSAME/  A meeting under the theme “Supporting non-mining exports through international fairs and exhibitions” was held at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry on March 11, 2024.

At the meeting, representatives of manufacturers and traders in the state and private sectors discussed the way of participating in international and national exhibitions and fair events for marketing and trading national products, and for partnering and cooperating with the same kind of foreign manufacturers.

To address the challenges the manufacturers face, the participants put forward some proposals including:

- to cover expenses for exhibition participation fully or partly

- to establish the “Made in Mongolia “stores overseas

- to sort out goods and products, pay attention to quality standards, and provide professional consultation

- to provide unified marketing and monitoring

At the meeting, participants agreed that Mongolian Embassies and Trade Representative Offices overseas should be used for supporting non-mining exports through international fairs and exhibitions. Currently, “Made in Mongolia “ store is operating in Canada for the markets of USA, and Canada, and the Mongolian Information and Trade Promotion Center of Europe in Berlin, “ informed Small and Medium Enterprises Agency, an Implementing agency of the Government of Mongolia.

Previously, though such stores were established in Hohhot and Erenhot cities of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, they are not operating permanently and productively as expected, manufacturers complained.

General Director of “Batzuu” company J.Oyunchiemeg said, “Establishing many “Made in Mongolia” stores overseas provides an opportunity for national manufacturers like us to save time and expenses.”

The leather manufacturing “Mergen tour” company director G.Enkhtur proposed, ”At the exhibitions organized overseas the national manufacturers and traders a sell their products which become an advertisement for our country. Therefore, the Government of Mongolia should support national enterprises that are promoting Mongolia abroad, enhancing the competitiveness of Mongolia, and increasing its exports.

Charmain of Small and Medium Enterprises Agency Ya. Erdenesaikhan emphasized that exhibitions to be hosted overseas will have a trend of promoting our heritage culture  through the Mongolian national products. “We plan to organize a Mongolian exhibition every month in different countries.”  Mr. Erdenesikhan agrees with the businessmen and manufacturers to level up by establishing stores as a permanent trade platform rather than making small sales during the one-time exhibition organized overseas.
