Mongolian volleyball team loses to S.Koreans in close game

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The final of a section of the East Asian Volleyball Championships was between the teams of Mongolia and South Korea on Monday, May 22. The Mongolian team was defeated by 2:3 in a very close match, and was qualified for the semi-final.
Mongolia’s first rival in the semi-final will be Japan. In Section A, South Korea is to play against Macao, which Mongolia clean swept by 3:0 in the first match.
The East Asian championships, hosted by Ulaanbaatar for the fourth time, is being participated by volleyball teams from Mongolia, South Korea, Macau, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and DPRK.
Since the inception of East Asian championships in 1998, Mongolian female team won silver in 2000 and bronze in 2008. For the male team, Mongolia was ranked at the fifth place in 2015.
