Hero of Labor Sodnompiljee Wins His Ninth World Championship Medal

the World Para Powerlifting Championships for juniors and adults held from
October 10 to 18, 2025, in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Hero of Labor of
Mongolia Sodnompiljee Enkhbayar won a silver medal.
Specifically, in the men’s 107 kg
adult category, Paralympic champion, Hero of Labor, and Honored Athlete of
Mongolia Sodnompiljee Enkhbayar lifted 243 kg to claim the silver medal. This
marks his ninth medal from the World Championships, bringing his total tally to
three gold and six silver medals.
In this category, Iranian
powerlifter Aliakbar Gharibshahi won the gold with a 255 kg lift, while the American
athlete Bobby Body won the bronze with 237 kg.
Meanwhile, in the men’s 54 kg adult category, World Cup champion D. Jigmed set a new junior world record twice. The previous record stood at 151 kg, which he surpassed with a lift of 153 kg and then 155 kg.
