ISDR Asia Partnership Forum opens in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ 2018 ISDR Asia Partnership Forum opens in Ulaanbaatar on April 24.
At the event, being co-organized by the Government of Mongolia and UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) Regional Office for Asia and Pacific, Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin and UNISDR Chief of Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific Ms Loretta Hieber Girardet delivered opening speeches.
Moreover, greetings of Ms Mami Mizutori, Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Disaster Risk Reduction were conveyed to the participants.
The participants convened to exchange views on preparations and firm up the agenda of the 2018 Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) to be held in Ulaanbaatar on July 3-9, 2018.
During the forum, representatives of the countries will report how they implemented Sendai Framework for DRR and the Asia Regional Plan, approved during the previous AMCDRR, held in India. In addition, plenary sessions on challenges in DRR, progress and achievements will be organized.
