MONTSAME News Agency is presenting a new edition of ‘Mongolian Fine Art Masterpiece’ series brought to you with the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery. This time, we are presenting an artwork, ‘Spring’ by recipient of the award of the Union of Mongolian Artists (UMA), Doctor (Sc.D) Professor Erdenetsogt Tserenchimed.

The artwork was painted with oil paints on a 70x80 canvas in 2008, illustrating a day in a rural village during the time of warm spring days with all the snow   melted away. The painting depicts a setting of spring as well as the simple way of life in a village. With intricate details and skillful techniques using the paintbrush, the artist drew the sketch of the artwork while he was staying at a camp in Bayanbuural during his vacation.

Artist Erdenetsog Tserenchimed began to be well-known in the Mongolian art scene in the late 20th century for his unique works that express gratifying tones behind illustrations of realism, impressionism, and surrealism. Whether the piece be landscape, depicting the way of life, historic, still life, or even portraits, his artworks are distinctive for its concepts being dramatic, making the viewers feel as if they are watching the plot of a play unravel on stage.
