Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene receives EU Ambassador

On February 18, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene received Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia Traian L. Hristea.


The Ambassador congratulated the Prime Minister on his appointment, and expressed his appreciation regarding the Government’s MNT 10 trillion comprehensive plan aimed to protect citizens’ health and recover the economy. He then introduced works being carried out on matters such as know-how, investment, and non-refundable aid. Besides the support and assistance for reducing dependence on mining as well as in fighting against the pandemic and corresponding cautionary measures, he also informed that a strategic plan is currently being developed in correlation with the ‘Vision-2050’ policy document.


In turn, PM L.Oyun-Erdene briefly informed the Ambassador about the measures being taken in response to the pandemic, and requested special attention to be given to economic cooperation, relations between businesses and private entities, and support for the processing industry as well as the realization of the list of 18 types of products to be exported to the EU that has been submitted. During the meeting, a suggestion was also put forth to study cooperation opportunities of supplying commodities for the EU demand.
