President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa Casts His Vote

Ulaanbaatar, June 28, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, and First Lady Bolortsetseg Luvsandorj, cast their votes at polling station 8-1-1-3 located in School No. 48 in Bayanzurkh District, Ulaanbaatar.
After casting his vote, President addressed the press, highlighting that this election coincides with the historic 100th anniversary of the adoption of the first Constitution of Mongolia. President Khurelsukh called on citizens to actively participate in the democratic election and exercise their constitutional rights.
In this Election, 78 members will be elected from constituencies and 48 from party lists. The voters of the capital city are voting for 24 seats in the six constituencies directly, while aimags’ voters are voting for 54 seats in seven constituencies. A total of 1341 candidates, representing 19 parties, two coalitions, and independents, are running, making it the election with the most party and coalition participation since 1992.
Among the candidates, 61.2 percent are male, and 38.8 percent are female. The oldest candidate is 79 years old, and the youngest is 25 years old.
A total of 2,224,233 citizens registered on the voter list will cast their votes, with 1,143,172 in rural areas and 1,081,061 in the Capital city.
Votes will be counted using 2943 voting machines in 2198 polling stations, and 100 percent of the votes will be manually counted for verification. Over 25,000 public officials are working in the election. Additionally, the election is being observed by 30,000 domestic and 260 international observers, and covered by 12 international media agencies along with local media.
