Mongolian-Italian Intergovernmental Mixed Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation Convenes

Ulaanbaatar, March 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The fourth meeting of the Mongolian-Italian Intergovernmental Mixed Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation was held on March 21, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, and Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Maria Tripodi. During the meeting, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the active expansion of cooperation in recent years between Mongolia and Italy, which have had historic relations for centuries. The two parties also exchanged views in detail on the possibilities of deepening cooperation in trade, economy, road and transport, agriculture, light industry, technology, culture, education, sports, and tourism and expanding relations by implementing joint projects in areas of mutual interest.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg presented Mongolia’s long and medium-term development policy and major goals reflected in the Government’s Action Program and noted the possibility of effective cooperation with Italy in achieving these goals. Moreover, the two sides emphasized the importance of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Air Services, which was signed in anticipation of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Italy, in strengthening people-to-people ties, increasing trade turnover between the two countries, and supporting businesses. The two parties agreed to continue the collaboration to ensure the implementation of the Agreement.
Mongolia established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Italy on June 29, 1970. For Mongolia, Italy is an important trade partner in the European Union.
