Ulaanbaatar, June 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/. A new service for tree registration has been added to the E-Mongolia system.

Citizens may log in to the application and access the “Register a Tree” section, where they may register both previously and newly planted trees. In doing so, users may provide information such as the type of tree, the location, and the date of planting, and upload a photo of the tree.

Following the announcement by the President of Mongolia at the United Nations General Assembly that “Mongolia will plant one billion trees by 2030,” preparations for tree planting have been underway for the past three years, and starting this year, large-scale planting has begun across extensive areas. It is planned to plant 570 million trees in the next two years, and 850 million trees during the period of 2028–2030.

“As of the previous year, a total of 84 million trees have been planted either directly or through compensatory measures, resulting in a five- to sixfold increase in the number and volume of seedlings, saplings, seeds, and tree nurseries compared to previous years.”

Specifically, with the establishment of a seed reserve amounting to 12.1 tons from 39 species of trees and shrubs nationwide, it has become possible to plant 292 million tree seedlings. Efforts are now underway to increase this seedling reserve to 100 million units.
