Exhibition to Open Marking the 120th Birth Anniversary of Laureate of the State Premium Yadamsuren Urjin

Ulaanbaatar, October 23, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The “Аmar Ayasgalan” exhibition, honoring the 120th anniversary of the birthday of the renowned figure in Mongolian fine arts, Laureate of the State Premium and People’s Artist of Mongolia, Yadamsuren Urjin, will open at the Fine Arts Gallery on October 24, 2025.
The exhibition will feature rare works in the collections of the Mongolian National Art Gallery and the Yadamsuren Urjin Foundation, along with personal belongings used by the artist, to highlight the legacy and mastery of the artist who left a deep mark on the development of modern Mongolian painting.
Among the main attractions are the “Uvgun Khuurch” painting, along with a selection of rarely displayed works from the gallery’s archive. For example, paintings, traditional Mongolian paintings, sketch collections, ethnographic artifacts, and Buddhist ritual objects from the artist’s personal collection will be included in the exhibition.
The first artist to be awarded the title of People’s Artist in the field of fine arts, Yadamsuren Urjin, began his career in 1941 and created over 50 portraits and more than 400 works depicting folk crafts and traditional culture. He is best known for his painting “Uvgun Khuurch.”
