Funding for Shireet Substation Expansion Included in 2026 State Budget

Ulaanbaatar, November 6, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At the regular session of the Cabinet of Mongolia on November 5, 2025, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Damdinnyam Gongor reported that Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav reviewed the construction progress of the Mongol Oil Refinery state-owned LLC and oil production activities of certain enterprises.
In connection with the briefing, the Government instructed relevant officials to:
- Draft and submit for
approval agreements ensuring the stable supply of crude oil from contractors
operating under production-sharing contracts to the Mongol Oil Refinery state-owned
LLC.
- Finance the second
phase of construction for the refinery workers’ residential complex through a
Development Bank of Mongolia LLC loan secured by a guarantee from Erdenes Mongol LLC.
- Include funding for the expansion of the “Shireet” substation in the 2026 state budget and carry out the construction work.
