Mongolian Representative Addresses UN Population Commission Session

Ulaanbaatar, April 17, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The 59th session of the Commission on Population and Development under the United Nations Economic and Social Council is being held in New York from April 13 to 17 under the theme “Population, Technology and Research in the Context of Sustainable Development.”
Mongolia’s Permanent Representative Ankhbayar Nyamdorj addressed the general debate on April 14. In his remarks, he outlined Mongolia’s policies and measures to implement the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, and emphasized the importance of pursuing population policy in a human rights-based, inclusive, and evidence-based manner.
He
also highlighted progress made under Mongolia’s digital transition policy,
noting that the E-Mongolia platform has delivered tangible results in making
public services faster, closer, and more accessible to citizens. At the same
time, he stressed that technological advancement must go hand in hand with the
protection of personal data.
