Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In order to reduce air pollution in the capital city, it is necessary to develop a policy on providing ger districts with low-cost electricity by giving them a nighttime tariff discount.

The Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg said it at the “Hour for solutions” weekly meeting on Wednesday. Present were also D.Zorigt, the Minister of Energy, and S.Otgonbayar, a head of the Regulatory Commission of Energy.

D.Zorigt said it is possible to minimize the nighttime tariff for the ger areas by abolishing a deficit in the energy industry, while S.Otgonabayar emphasized that the nighttime tariff discount could be served in winter times when the ger areas need to take much heat.

The Premier ordered the officials to minimize the nighttime tariff by 50%, to 38.55 Togrog per kilowatt from December 1 of 2015.
