Mongolia-initiated resolution passed at UN
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At a meeting of the Third Committee on social, cultural and humanitarian affairs on November 23, the 70th session of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on improving the status of rural women and girls.
This resolution reflects matters on empowering all groups of rural women in the political and socio-economic areas, paying attention to protecting women and girls from climate change, natural disasters, wars and conflicts, improving the quality of data and statistics about women and developing a gender-sensitive training system based on interests of women and girls.
Supporting the resolution, 105 countries have joined the document as co-authors.
