2016 NEA Mayors Forum to address urban energy production
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the initiative of the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city is to host the Northeast Asian Mayors Forum for the third consequent year on August 4 and 5. The first forum took place here in 2014, as a result of which the Mayors agreed to make it an annual event.
In 2014, Northeast Asian mayors reviewed the General Development Plan of Ulaanbaatar until 2030 and other important initiatives and agreed on broadening the cooperation of the regional cities.
As per the decision, the Mayors once again assembled here in September of 2015 under a theme “Green Development of Cities”. A joint message has been issued and submitted to the United Nations General Assembly.
This year’s theme will be “Energy production of cities, its distribution and future perspectives”. On the occasion, an exhibition and fair for advertising energy-saving technology products is to be held at Chinggis Square on August 3-5. The interested can get registered to partake in this event through the Capital City Air Quality Office.
