UNFPA country program document for Mongolia approved

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ UNFPA Country Program Document for Mongolia in 2017-2021 was approved at the Second regular session of the Executive Board of UNFPA held in New York on 6-7 September 2016.

At the meeting, S.Sukhbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, highlighted that all previous five cycles of CPD greatly contributed to health and wellbeing of women, girls and families and overall population development in Mongolia. Further he underlined that the new CPD was developed through highly participatory processes involving all relevant stakeholders and priority areas of the new document such as sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth and empowerment of youth and gender equality are timely and relevant to Sustainable Development Vision of Mongolia 2030 and consistent with Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.

The Executive Board of UNFPA approved Country Program Documents for Bangladesh, DPRK, Lao PDR, Islamic Republic of Iran, Thailand and Vietnam at the same meeting from Asia-Pacific region.
