Cabinet meeting in brief

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Regular meeting of the cabinet convened on Wednesday, April 12. Ministers made important decisions, including approving the Whole Liver-Mongolia Program, establishment of Eg River Hydropower Plant LLC and submission of bills on exemption from customs duties.

Moreover, the cabinet considered the draft new version of the Law on Prosecutors and resolved to present to the parliament.

-Cabinet approved the plan of implementation measures of the National Program on Combating Corruption.

-Annual operational reports for 2016 of the Citizens’ Representatives Khurals of Ulaanbaatar and localities, and their presidiums were presented to the cabinet by the Head of the Cabinet Secretariat, Minister J.Munkhbat.

-Guidelines setting out the traveling schedule and delegation members were approved for the Spring Meeting of the World Bank Group, “Yokohama 2017” 50th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank’s Board of Governors to take palce in Japan and the 26th annual meeting of EBRD Board of Governors to be held in Nicosia of Cyprus. All of the above meetings will take place in April and May.

-Cabinet resolved to host the National Assembly of Communities for Environmental Protection, expected on April 20 and 21 in Ulaanbaatar, under the auspices of the Prime Minister. Mongolia now has over 1,600 communities, consisting of more than 40 thousand volunteers and citizens who want to preserve the eco-system. 411 of them are for the conservation of fauna, water and grazing lands, whereas around 1,200 communities are working to save the forests.
