Exhibition of Mongolian People's Revolution heroes on display

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Heroes of the People’s Revolution” exhibition opened at Mongolian Military Museum today on July 6, displaying the lives and struggles of 12 outstanding leaders who shed their blood and led the revolt during 1921’s People’s Revolution.
The Mongolian Military Museum, in cooperation with National Central Archive and Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense, is organizing the exhibition in accordance with the 2226th anniversary of Foundation of first Mongolian Statehood, 811th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, 96th anniversary of the People’s Revolution and 90th anniversary of formation of Archives in Mongolia.

Colonel Z.Bayarmagnai, Director of Mongolian Military Museum, opened the exhibition by saying “When we talk about Mongolian heroes, only the names of 69 people who were awarded “Hero of Mongolian People’s Republic” title in 1936, such as Shagdar Gongor, Agaar Zorigtbaatar and Damchaa Demberel are mentioned. When flipping the pages of history, 113 people who fought for the country’s freedom and independence were awarded “Hero” back in Mongolian Empire. With an aim to promote the histories of the public figures that helped bring victory to the People’s Revolution, the exhibition is displaying the lives of these heroes, such as D.Sukhbaatar and S.Magsarjav.
The exhibits consist of over 40 photographs, over 70 archived documents, collections of over 20 textiles and physical displays related to the heroes of people’s revolution stored in the National Museum of Mongolia and Mongolian Military Museum.
