PM J.Erdenebat discusses IMF's first review with mission chief for Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat received Koshy Mathai, International Monetary Fund’s mission chief for Mongolia on August 2.

The IMF mission released the first review of Extended Fund Facility program. Within the framework of the program, priority policy actions were finished in time and met the expected results. Therefore, the results concluded as “Implemented successfully”.

The Government’s policy in restoring the economy and establishing macroeconomic balance is showing short-term positive effects. For instance, according to the IMF mission chief , exchange rate is stabilizing, investors' trust in increasing, employment opportunities are increasing, the economy is activating and budget deficit is decreasing. Although the economy is growing, Mr. Koshy Mathai noted, that it’s still fragile and is in need for preserving the growth and government’s consistency to maintain sustainability.

PM J.Erdenebat said, “The economic recovery allows the Government to implement industrial, infrastructural, export and development projects", assuring that the Cabinet will put efforts into successful implementation of the Extended Fund Facility program.
