Government and civil society organizations to cooperate in encouraging youth employment

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A memorandum of cooperation was signed today between the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU), the National Human Rights Commission, the General Agency for Specialized Inspection, the Authority for Family, Child and Youth Development, the Mongolian Bar Association and the General Authority of Labor and Social Service to encourage youth employment and to strengthen cooperation between governmental and civil society organizations.
Youth make up about 35.3 percent of working age population of Mongolia. Kh.Amgalanbatar, President of CMTU highlighted an urgent need of policy development and collaboration of governmental and civil society organizations in backing youth employment.
Actions such as coordinating activities, conducting joint trainings, promotions and discussions as well as works targeted to learning and introducing international good practices are planned in frame of the memorandum. Furthermore, they plan to organize an online campaign to introduce labor rights of young people with support of the International Labor Organization and the European Union and to improve skills of specialists of corresponding organizations.
