MP L.Eldev-Ochir meets UNFAO Representative

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On May 25, L.Eldev-Ochir, MP and head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture, met with Mustafa M.Sinaceur, Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United States (FAO) to Mongolia.
At the meeting, Mr. Mustafa M.Sinaceur handed over invitations to involve two Mongolian parliamentarians in the World Summit of Parliamentarians Against Malnutrition to be organized in October, 2018 in Spain.
He put forward a request to collaborate with parliaments of other countries to fulfill the 2nd goal of the World Development Goals-- to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture, and contribute to joint achievement, even though Mongolia does not affect starvation and nutritional deficiency, like other some countries.
MP L.Eldev-Ochir appreciated the FAO for cooperating with Mongolia, providing recommendations to formulate bills on livestock health and livestock genepool that were passed in 2017 and said that it intends to formulate a bill on pastureland and submit for approval this year. He also added that the Standing Committee would pay attention on sending representatives to the World Summit, marking the World Food Day in the country and fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals.
