Cooperation to be expanded with Belarus in animal husbandry

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ The 2nd meeting of the joint working group between the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus was held on July 18-19 in Minsk, Belarus and delegates led by D.Enkhbat, State Secretary of the Ministry participated from Mongolian side.
In the beginning, the parties reviewed accomplishment of the Protocol of the 1st meeting which was held in March, 2016 in Ulaanbaatar. Appraising some advancements in agricultural spheres of both countries over the past two years, the sides agreed to set a wide range of cooperation in the field of animal husbandry and signed a relevant Protocol during the 2nd meeting. Specifically, the parties agreed to scrutinize a possibility to implement a joint governmental program on establishing milk production cluster and developing farming in Mongolia by means of distributing Belarusian agricultural machinery and equipment under favorable financial terms.
In connection with new restructure of the State Veterinary Department, having branches in 330 soums of 21 aimags, the sides will cooperate in training and re-training Mongolian staff in Belarus and providing necessary equipment. Alongside, the parties will study a possibility to engage sugar beet cultivation and establish a joint sugar processing factory in Mongolia.
