Ambassador N.Naranbat meets initiator of ‘Return of Wild Horses’ project

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 12, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Czech Republic N.Naranbat met with Director of Prague Zoo Miroslav Bobek, who initiated and is successfully implementing the ‘Return of Wild Horses’ project under the development aid of the Czech Government.
The Prague Zoo has been carrying out the project to breed and protect endangered wild horses and return them to their homeland over the last eight years. Currently, 31 wild horses have been reintroduced in Khomiin Tal and Takhin Tal Nature Reserve of the Great Gobi B Specially Protected Area.
The meeting exchanged views on the continuation of this projects and the implementation of the Memorandum on the Protection of Endangered Animal Species in Mongolia, established between the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia and the Prague Zoo for protecting saiga and Bactrian camel habiting in western part of Mongolia and increasing their population.
