Women's chess team leads with three wins

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The 43rd Chess Olympiad is running in the city of Batumi in Georgia these days. Yesterday, Mongolia women's chess team played against the Belarusian team from the white side for the 3rd set and won by the ratio of 2.5:1.5.


However, our men’s team has lost to the 1st team of Georgia by the ratio of 1.5:2.5. In the first set of the Olympiad, the Mongolian men’s team won against the Ethiopian team by the ratio of 4:0, while the women’s team won against the Sri-Lanka team by the ratio of 4:0 and was ranked as 9th in the standings.


For the second set, our men’s team played against the Cuba team from the white set and ended as a tie of 2:2. The women’s team played against the Bosnia and Herzegovina team and won by the ratio of 3:1.


Today, on September 27, 2018, the Mongolian men’s team will be playing against the Malawi team for the fourth set. As for the women’s team, they will play against the Iranian team. Participants from 185 countries are participating in the open event, and a total of some 1,700 athletes from 150 countries are participating in the women’s event.
