Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In the frameworks of her official visit to the Russian Federation, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Culture O.S.Yarilova to discuss opportunities in developing cultural relations and actions to be done in the near future.

At the start of the meeting, Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa noted the modern trends of culture and the opportunities of developing cultural partnership in sectors, such as tourism. “There are many events we could mention such as the concerts performed by the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble and Buryat National Theatre of Song and Dance “The Baikal” that were held recently in Ulaanbaatar, as well as “Russian movie days” and “Mongolian movie days” held in Moscow. We have more possibilities to further develop our partnership. For instance, large scale events, such as the Mongolian and Russian cultural days that haven’t taken place in recent years, should be organized. Furthermore, the coming year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the battle of Khalkhin Gol. In the frameworks of celebrating this anniversary, to help our future generations in realizing the importance of this historical event, I want to note that there is much to be done, such as creating a feature film about the battle.”

Deputy Minister O.S.Yarilova agreed on further developing cultural relations between the two countries and suggested organizing the Russian cultural days event in Mongolia during the year of the 80th anniversary, and organizing the Mongolian cultural days event in Russia the next year, during the 75th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War. “We are also ready to develop partnership in fields, such as museum and archives. Our side will support the cultural relations and partnership between regions, especially the regions near our borders.”

At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed the cooperation program between the two ministries for 2018-2020.
