Second forum on SDG Agenda in Asia and the Pacific to be hosted in Ulaanbaatar

The 27th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum, held in Siem
Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia wrapped up on January 17, with approval of 14
resolutions and Siem Reap Declaration.
The Mongolian parliamentary
delegation comprising head of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social
Policy, Education, Culture and Science, Yo.Baatarbileg, head of Parliamentary
Standing Committee on Justice Sh.Radnaased and MP S.Erdene represented Mongolia
in the sessions.
As outcomes of
the 27th APPF, a total of 14 resolutions approved, including ‘Strengthening
regional partnership for gender equality and empowerment of women and girls for
peace and sustainable development’, ‘Ensuring inclusive access to education,
technical training and information technology for peace and sustainable
development’, ‘Peace on the Korean Peninsula’, ‘Promoting gender equality and
women’s empowerment in decision making at all levels’, ‘Promoting financial
access and vocational training for small and medium enterprises for employment
and peace’ as well as others.
Representing
Mongolia, head of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice Sh.Radnaased signed
the Joint Communique – Siem Reap Declaration.
In the conclusion of the APPF, Mr. Baatarbileg introduced about the Second Forum regarding the implementation of SDG Agenda in Asia and the Pacific to be hosted in Ulaanbaatar in May this year together with International Parliamentary Union, and invited delegations to take part in the forum, which was accepted by foreign delegations with support.
