The Ministry of Health receives antiviral medication

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On January 23, the World Health Organization handed over 500 boxes of oseltamivir, antiviral medication to the Ministry of Health.


Mongolia started using the drug in 2009 in treatment of H1N1 influenza A virus and it is included in the 20th WHO Essential Medicines List and in the 8th Essential Medicines List of Mongolia. 


Oseltamivir drug, given by WHO will be distributed to the hospitals in rural areas and in the capital city where influenza infection rate is considered high.
