Speaker receives the Cuban Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Parliament Speaker G.Zandanshatar received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia Raul Delgado Concepcion on April 16.

Next year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Cuba. In this regard, the parties emphasized the importance of the anniversary to the traditional and friendly relations between the countries and exchanged views on  intensifying bilateral parliamentary cooperation.

Ambassador Raul Delgado Concepcion mentioned about Cuba’s new constitution, adopted this year, and noted that he delivered a presentation on that matter at the National University of Mongolia, sharing views with the researchers and scholars. The Speaker congratulated the people of Cuba with the adoption of new constitution, noting that this fundamental change will have a good impact on Cuba's prosperity. The sides discussed bilateral trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening and further deepening the cooperation in education, health, biotechnology and sports.

Speaker G.Zandanshatar accepted the invitation to visit the Republic of Cuba and expressed gratitude for the invitation.

The Ambassador noted that some medicines produced in Cuba are being used in Mongolia and that the consumers have given positive feedback. He also expressed willingness to strengthen the traditional relations in sports and that the Cuban experts are ready to train boxers, judo and freestyle wrestlers for the 2020 Summer Olympics. In addition, the Ambassador mentioned that preliminary negotiations on implementing landscape rehabilitation project in Mongolia was held with the representatives of the environment sector.

Speaker G.Zandanshatar noted the importance of exchanging experts in health, biotechnology and agriculture sectors, establishing direct relationship between the hospitals, construction of joint clinic, introducing cancer and hepatitis vaccines and supporting physician re-training in Cuba and establishment of joint venture for biotechnology production.
