Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to Governor’s Decree, restoration and extension of Ulaanbaatar city museum will be conducted under the ‘Cultural heritage friendly Ulaanbaatar’ campaign.
Marking the 380th anniversary of the establishment of Ulaanbaatar city, it was decided to implement the project on restoration and extension of the city museum. The project will be implemented in frames of ‘Cultural heritage friendly Ulaanbaatar’ campaign aimed at preserving and restoring over 100 years old historic and cultural monuments and buildings in the capital.
Built in 1919, the museum building hasn’t been repaired since 1961. The museum keeps more than 3200 items related to the history of Ulaanbaatar, of which only about 100 are on display due to lack of space.
