Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Launch of the project ‘Rendering assistance to veterinarians’, which will be realized in Mongolia by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), took place on October 31 at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.

During the project launching, TIKA presented coveralls to veterinarians of the veterinary offices in aimags. It spent USD 51 thousand to supply winter coveralls to over 700 veterinarians and veterinary inspectors who are working in 21 aimags and 331 soums.

“Our agency has been rendering non-refundable aid to agriculture sector of Mongolia over the last 10 years on behalf of the Government of Turkey. A project on providing urban and rural vegetable farmers with green houses is being carried out. Specifically, cellars and honey packing factory have been built to support bee-farming in Selenge aimag. Thus, it is helping rural citizens to have jobs and income,” program coordinator of TIKA in Ulaanbaatar Emrah Ustaomer said.

He added that bilateral cooperation in agriculture sector has been expanding through establishment of intensive cattle and sheep farming as well as forage plant.

Minister Ch.Ulaan and Ambassador of Turkey to Mongolia Ahmet Yazal attended the launch of the project, exchanging views on bilateral cooperation.
