UNICEF Representative visits families in Bayankhongor aimag

Alex Heikens, Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund Mongolia
Country Office, visited three of the 200 ger households that adopted CHIPS
(Cooking, Heating, Insulation, Product and Service) under the ‘Smog-Free
Bayankhongor’ initiative by UNICEF Mongolia, Swiss Cooperation in Mongolia and
Bayankhongor aimag.
Indoor temperature of these
three households was between 20-25°C and the indoor air quality was normal.
CHIPS is a package of
solution which comprises of energy-efficient heating and cooking appliance, 10
sets of home insulation materials as well as ventilation to reduce air
pollution and heat loss in a ger (a traditional yurt).
