Mineralogist G.Gongorjav puts his unique mineral collection on display

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State honored cultural figure, chemist, mineralogist, journalist G.Gongorjav opened his fifth mineral exhibition ‘Mineral Pattern III’ at the National Museum of Mongolia on December 24. Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority, and the National Museum are collaborating on the exhibition under the String of Pearl cultural and scientific project.

The researcher aimed to show the nature’s unique creations and artworks with no exaggeration, for example he has discovered patterns similar to ancient stamps and letters, especially, the khas symbol and old Uyghur scripts, inside minerals found from Mongolia.

This time, he is showcasing dozens of precious stones found in Mongolia, in particular, crystals, rubies, sapphires, garnets, wolframite stones, fluorite, and chalcedonies that are light and dark blue, violet, black, green, pink, yellow, and even rainbow in color.

The exhibition will be open until January 5, 2020.
