Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The Cabinet held its irregular meeting today. At the meeting, the Cabinet approved a resolution on the establishment of the National Geology Service. The National Geology Service will have 68 staff members in six divisions.  

The overall mission of the National Geology Service ares to provide raw materials for the sustainable production of the mining sector by studying geological formations and structures of the subsoil of Mongolian territory and increasing minerals reserve, to conduct geo-ecological and hydro-geological researches in urban and regional areas and compile territorial report and analysis on earthquakes and landslides.   

The purpose of the NGS is to establish the national database on mineral resources and provide services to interested parties with information other than classified information.
