Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 2, on behalf of the Garden Hope Foundation of Taiwan, Representative at the Taipei Trade and Economic Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar Grace Lo presented the Community Development Award of the 8th Asian Girl Awards to B.Oyunbileg.

In her acceptance speech, B.Oyunbileg highlighted that the award is vital not only to her, but also other Mongolian girls as she believes that the Asian Girl Award serves as great motivation for all girls to take steps towards their goals and dreams confidently.

Aside from voluntarily teaching English to girls aged 10-15 in target groups on the side of her studies at school, she founded a club promoting environmentally friendly lifestyle as well as an eco-friendly online shop. Following this, she also developed the Buried Life - Empowering Future Women Project to disseminate knowledge to the public using internet.

Representative Grace Lo highlighted that the Asian Girl Awards are being presented to the recipients through representative offices as the award ceremony that was planned to be organized in Taiwan was cancelled due to the pandemic. Noting that girls and women from various countries such as Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines participated in the program, she congratulated Oyunbileg for the recognition of her efforts and expressed her hopes of many more Mongolians seeing the significance of girls’ education and equality, and the event serving as support for many girls to work towards their dreams.

Following the UN’s declaration of October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child in 2011, the Garden of Hope Foundation of Taiwan has been organizing the selection and ceremony for the Formosan Girl Awards and the Asian Girl Awards together since 2012 as a part of the girls' empowerment campaign.
