Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat meets Kuwaiti Ambassador
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government L.Oyun-Erdene, as a head of the Mongolia-Kuwait Intergovernmental Commission, received Ambassador of Kuwait to Mongolia Mohammad Faisal Al-Mutairi on October 20.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Oyun-Erdene expressed deepest condolences
on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah on
September 29. As Kuwait’s 15th emir, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al
Sabah made a valuable contribution to the development of relations and
cooperation between two countries, emphasized Mr. Oyun-Erdene. He also wished
to the 16th Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah success for his future endeavors
and expressed hope for further cooperation.
The meeting mostly focused on cooperation between the two governments over the next
four years. In his speech, Mr. Oyun-Erdene noted that the projects being
implemented in Mongolia with the loans and grants of the Kuwait Fund for Arab
Economic Development are running successfully.
Construction work of the National Burn Center with
non-refundable assistance of the Kuwait Fund is now running at 95 percent and
is expected to complete this December. In addition, the project on modernizing
Undurkhaan Airport is progressing according to the plan.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic
relations between the two countries, but many of the planned joint activities
have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the parties agreed to work actively further at the government level to make the planned activities
actual works.
