Chair of State Structure Standing Committee meets UNDP Resident Representative

Committee on State Structure L.Enkh-Amgalan on October 27 met with Resident
representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mongolia Elaine
Conkievich to discuss progress of the UNDP project ‘Towards a Professional and
Citizen-centered Civil Service in Mongolia’ that started in 2018.
UNDP Resident Representative Elaine Conkievich highlighted
the importance of addressing high government staff turnover that comes after elections and that making replacements during COVID-19 could affect civil service, expressing
readiness to cooperate with the State Great Khural and the Civil Service
Council.
“The new Law on
Civil Service states that the core civil service shall be free from political
influence and based on the merit principle. The standing committee is focusing
on the challenges faced in implementing the law” MP L.Enkh-Amgalan said, undertaking
to work on ensuring good governance.
