Mongolia receives 155,610 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines

/MONTSAME/. In the framework of non-refundable assistance from the Government
of Japan, Mongolia received 155,610 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech (BNT162) vaccines
on August 06.
More
specifically, the vaccines are being supplied in the framework of the ‘COVID-19
pandemic and Public Health Emergency Capacity Building Project’ being
implemented in Mongolia through the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)
with a grant from the Government of Japan.
Under
the agreement on the purchase of vaccine, Mongolia has received 450,450 doses
out of total 1,124,370 doses of COVID-19 vaccines being provided in the third
quarter of this year. The remaining doses of vaccines will be allocated by the
end of September as scheduled.
Vaccination
campaigns for children aged 12-17 will continue on a voluntary basis as well as
the permission of parents and guardians in connection with the upcoming academic
year.
