Cooperation with Kazakhstan in transit transport sector discussed
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 13, Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg held
a working meeting with B.Sultanov, head of Kazakhstan’s side to the Mongolia-Kazakhstan
Intergovernmental Commission and Minister of Trade and Integration of
the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During
the meeting Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg expressed her support for private sector cooperation,
further enriching the Mongolian-Kazakh traditional bilateral relations with economic
content. Conveying
the greetings of
Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and head of
the Mongolian side to the Intergovernmental Commission Z.Mendsaikhan, Foreign Minister
B.Battsetseg suggested to hold a regular meeting of the Commission next year in Ulaanbaatar.
The sides
agreed to intensify the activities of working group under
the commission to develop bilateral cooperation in agricultural sector. They, furthermore, exchanged views on possibilities of accelerating the cooperation in the field of veterinary quarantine service as well as in the transit transport sector using
the geographical location connecting the two continents of Asia and Europe.
Minister B.Sultanov expressed
his hope that joint meeting of the Business Council will be held next year to intensify the business cooperation. Noting Kazakhstan's capability to export products that Mongolia needs such as road vehicles, buses and locomotives, B.Sultanov also suggested to mobilize recourses for cooperation in the
tourism sector.
